Description
This year I participated in a course that took me to the remote Rupinuni region of Guyana to study its biodiversity through scientific means as well as through art and the culture of the region.
It was an amazing time of camping in the jungle and giant river otters and caiman and everything oh my god.
Here's a selection of pages from one of my sketchbooks I kept in my time there.
The majority of drawings here are fantasy creatures inspired by the real life of the region.
Second page here is a few drawings of a dead spectacled caiman I found-- which was basically the single happiest moment of my life. It took me nearly my whole time in the Rupinuni and a whole list of mishaps, but I managed to prepare its skull, which turned out beautifully if I say so myself.
